SWEEP GRANT- Improve Your Water Use Efficiency

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is expecting to launch grant rounds by the end of 2023 to help California farmers increase their water use efficiency.

The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) provides financial assistance in the form of grants (Up to $200,000 per farming entity) to implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water on California agricultural operations.

Over the years, Hortau has helped many farm operations obtain funding, we know the process and are here to help! 

Eligible projects include the following: 

*Converting from flood irrigation to drip

*Installation of a variable frequency drive (VFD) 

*Irrigation management using soil moisture monitoring

*Irrigation automation

*Converting from diesel to electric pumps

Hortau offer’s real time soil moisture monitoring, irrigation automation, flow meter, well depth and weather monitoring.
