WASHINGTON D.C. – Hortau was invited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and White House Rural Council to showcase its irrigation management platform and discuss ways to drive investments, job growth and technology adoption in agriculture at the Second Annual Rural Opportunity Investment Conference at the White House complex in Washington D.C. on July 28, 2015.
Hortau CEO Jocelyn Boudreau spoke on the day’s opening panel about “Successful Equity Investments.” The discussion was hosted by moderator Jim Feinerman, Associate Dean for Transnational Programs at Georgetown Law.
“We need to invest in Rural America,” Boudreau said. “We need to create high value and high knowledge jobs, and help keep the next generation working in agriculture.”
Other panelists included Ron LeMay (FarmLink), Thomas Mende (Klausner), and Kelly Tiller (Genera Energy).
Hortau Marketing Director Brian Milne was also invited to participate in the event, which focused on promoting public-private partnerships designed to help drive rural economies.
It connected senior officials from financial institutions, fixed-income funds and other investors with rural business leaders, government officials and experts in economic development.
